Staying cool and comfortable this Summer.
Staying Cool and Comfortable in the summer.
Summer has finally hit, and its only June 4th and the
temperatures are peaking at 37C. Staying cool and comfortable in summer is hard
for a lot of people, but I have found a few ways to muscle through the summer.
The days are the hardest for me cause it’s 16 hours for constant sunlight. How I
start my day is by washing my face with cool water, then a healthy dose of Aloe
Vera. I find Aloe Vera in the morning while it’s still cool keeps my skin
moisturized for the whole day. I don’t use any fancy aloe Vera since I go
through it so fast; I use a basic dollar store ones they cost $3 a bottle. I
usually then find comfortable cotton flowing clothes and a summer hat. Cotton
is best for you in the summer, it allows the skin to breathe and it lasts many
hot summers. Mid-morning the sun and the
heat starts to beat down on my skin , so I top it off with the Bath and Body
Works Oahu Coconut Sunset cooling Aloe gel , they make a full size and travel
size , to confess I carry both and I use both everyday . Being very pale means
sunburns all the time, so sunscreen and I have become mutual friends. I need
the highest SPF I can find and I don’t like spending money on high end
sunscreen when I go through it so fast , I always keep one bottle on me at all
times and at least one in the car as well. I don’t tan
at all in the summer so I’m constantly just one colour … Casper the ghost.
Fruit flavored water always is a must have for me in the summer. I love the
burst of flavor and I feel I drink way more, I try to drink 4-6 large bottles
of water a day to keep hydrated and it keeps my skin in such good shape. I
don’t wear makeup in the summer and that’s a personal choice I made, it gives
my skin time to breathe and the sunlight brings all the freckles out. Plus I
don’t have to worry about touching up or whether my makeup is running. It’s a
confident choice I made for myself, but if you want to makeup in the summer,
you rock it! Deodorant is a must have, always got one on me no matter what. I
find also keeping face wipes or cleansing wipes in my bag is amazing too, I use
them if my face get too warm or on my hands after putting on sunscreen.
Summer nights aren’t easier either due to the heat lingering
till 2 am. I make sure I am as cool as possible before bed. While taking a
quick shower I leave my fan on and windows open to try and dissipate the hot
air so I can sleep better at night. I find that usually helps for a better
night’s sleep. Then do it all again tomorrow.
I have included a list of must haves in my bag in the
summer.
Hat
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Aloe Vera
Deodorant
Water bottle or two
Bobby pins/ Hair elastic
Face wipes
Chap Stick or two
Let me know if any of you try these methods and what you
think. This worked best for me so I wanted to share with all you beautiful
people.
Thank you lovelies
Emma
