2018 Goals

Over the last few months, I have been planning and setting goals for my personal growth. The last few years have been a struggle for me and I decided to get some help. I thought, for the longest time, that I would not have to ask for help, but one day something in my mind clicked and told my body that I needed serious help. I want all of you to know that asking for help is not a sign of weakness; it means your body is ready to start healing. The goals I have set for myself are simple and realistic. I bought a lovely book from chapters to track my goals and keep them close to me in times of need.

As mentioned in my previous blog, I want 2018 to be my year. I want it to be a year of growth, love and friendship. Being able to see what goals I want to achieve has brought happiness to me. There are a lot of goals, but I know they will help me in the long run. Leave a comment and let me know some of your 2018 goals.

A few hand written goals

The goals I want to achieve, and how I will achieve them.

Read 52 books
·     I want to read 1 book a week. I have been slacking on my reading lately and want to try some new books.

Eat better.
·     Having a healthier diet, will improve my stress and anxiety levels. Lots more vegetables and fruits.

Consume more water.
·     Keeping track of my water intake will improve my health everyday.

Take a personal development course.
·     I have been meaning to do this for years and have finally had the courage to try and set one up.

More yoga
·     I have taken up yoga in last year, but haven’t given it a good try. I would love to try the True 30 days of yoga with Adriene. Adriene is my favourite yoga instructors. You can follow her on YouTube for amazing videos.

Do something you have been putting off.
·     I have a huge list of things I have been putting off for years. 2018 is going to be the year that this changes. Get the list completed.

Meet new people.
·     Getting out and meeting new people has been very hard for me. But this
year I want to change that.

Get a tattoo.
·     I lost a friend and pet recently and wanted to get some memory of them.

Traveling somewhere new.
·     I have written a small list of places that I would love to visit. I plan to check them all off once I have completed them.

 Take more Photos.
·     With all the new places I will be traveling to, I want to take photos of all them.

  Move out
·     This year I really want to move and create a lovely space of my own. Having the money and the mindset to move out will help.

Some smaller goals to achieve.

Walk more
Workout more
More gratitude
More tea
Start jogging again
Take an hour to myself
No more soda drinks

As mentioned before, I have written my goals down to keep track. Being able to physically track my progress is the best way to watch myself grow. I plan to achieve these goals daily and monthly. At the end of 2018, I want to able to see how much personal growth has happened.

The smaller goals you set for yourself, the easier and faster they will be achieved. It’s only the beginning of the year; don’t strive too hard too quickly. Ease yourself into the personal changes, your body, mind and soul will thank you later for all the time and love you took for yourself.

My advice.

Set monthly goals and stick to them
Plan your weeks/weekend
Make sure your goals are something you can achieve
Do not get flustered or frustrated when things change.
Breathe
Love your body

I love tracking my goals with  lovely notebooks

It took me 2 years to make a real impact on myself. Things like this take time. Your goals are your life’s celebrations. Rejoice with them and keep those goals close to your heart.

Thank you for reading,

Emma
