Silky Summer Skin

Hello everyone,

Summer is in full swing here in the Okanagan and rejuvenating my skin after a day in the sun is my favourite part of the day. I am a big believer in taking good care of my skin. In this post I am going to go through my summer skin repair hacks.

The first step to repairing my skin is making sure that I drink lots of water. Even when I am out in the sun, I drink loads of water. I drink a full glass of water first thing in the morning. After that I hop into the shower to refresh myself. I am an extremely fair skinned person, so I get warm very quickly and turn a lovely shade of lobster! I feel the best way to cool my skin off is to get in the shower. Once I have had a cool, relaxing shower after using my favourite Dove moisturizing soap, I pick up my Sublime Sun After Sun. This lotion is very rich and soothing and is meant for people who want to keep a tan. This after sun lotion gives an amazing full 24 hours of hydration. I use this lotion every day.

If the Sublime Lotion doesn’t feel like enough, I grab an extra lotion and pop it on top; however, the two lotions can get very heavy on the skin. The second lotion I reach for is St Ives Fresh Hydration as I love the Coconut Milk and Orchid.

Now, if I don’t have time to run home for a shower, the next thing I use on my skin is Aloe Vera. I have 4 types of Aloe Vera that I use. The first 2 have no scent to them and are just plain 100% Aloe. Wal-Mart and the dollar store carry many different types and for great prices around $3 and $5. I use the plain ones on my face to help cool it down or to give myself a bit of a glow. If I want Aloe that has a summery smell, I grab the Bath and Body Works Cooling Aloe Gel, Oahu Coconut Sunset and Peace, Love and Daisies. I carry these everywhere as they really give the skin a nice cooling feeling and a glorious smell.

Now, if all of these solutions don’t work, I go to my trusty backup. Baby Oil. Baby oil has saved my skin and brought back the needed moisture to help it heal. Baby oil is good for any skin problems. You can pick baby oil everywhere. I don’t use too much other wise it gets really greasy and stains clothes.

If you follow these simple tricks to help heal and moisturize your skin; I promise you will have beautiful skin for the whole summer.

Up next is a, aromatherapy review.

Until next time Darlings,

Emma
