New Makeup Review
Hello everyone,
This summer I wanted to expand my highlighter and blush collection. Getting back into wearing makeup has been a challenge for me, since I have taken such a long break from it. So getting back into it I treated myself to a few beautiful products. Here’s what I purchased:
Revolution London is a brand that is new to me. I saw some items on discount so I wanted to try them out. I picked up the most beautiful blush palette called Blush Palette Queen. It is supposed to be a blush palette, but it could pass as a highlighter palette as well. The palette has eight amazing colours that can be blended into a beautiful sheen. I paid $9.99. These blush colours would work on any skin tone.
I also picked up a highlighter in the same brand. Peach Lights is such an amazing colour. It’s a cream colour highlighter, but when applied to the skin it has almost a purple and pink glow. This highlighter lasts all day and gives the face a beautiful glow. I really love this product and I have used it every single day since I purchased it.
I have been searching for a long time to find a heavy-duty concealer. Hard Candy came out with this really good one called Glamoflauge. This is, seriously, a heavy duty concealer. It doesn’t crease and its an all day stay formula so it’s really hard to get off at night. I picked up the lightest shade they make, but it’s still too dark for me. I paid $6.98 for this one.
For the summer I picked up two neutral pink and nude shades.
NYX came out with a line of liquid lipsticks. Where I live they always seem to be on sale. Before committing to multiple shades, I stuck with the ones I know look best on me. NYX Lingerie liquid lipstick in Bedtime Flirt is one on the nicest lipsticks I have ever used. It doesn’t leave lipstick marks on cups and doesn’t dry out your lips. For me it lasted through six hours of talking and drinking. For $7.99 I most definitely will be getting some more.
Ariposa is a dollar store brand that I found and have fallen in love with. They make matte lip stains. I grabbed Lollipop, a very light berry shade and it’s amazing. They are very different from the NYX products as it is a little sticky feeling and does leaves lipstick marks on everything. It isn’t as long lasting as the NYX, but for the price you pay for what you get.
Next on the lip list is the Elf matte Lipstick. I found a more natural lip colour for $3.00 and I thought why not give it a try. The colour on the end of the pen is different than what comes out which is a little annoying, but the colour is really lovely. I’ve also discovered with the summer heat it doesn’t melt.
My adventure of getting back into makeup requires one more thing: mascara. I have tried many types of mascara some of which I have loved and some I haven’t. The ones I have loved I keep coming back too. The two that I repurchased are Maybelline Great Mascara and Revlon Lash Potion. All the mascaras are in Very Black.
The Maybelline Great mascara was the one every girl started out with, but I have found this mascara works the best for me and gives me the best long lashed effect.
The Maybelline lash sensational has come out with a new formula and brush and I’ve been dying to try it. The packaging is super cute and the bottle fits nicely into my makeup storage. It was on sale for half price so I’m going to give it a go.
My favourite mascara is the Revlon Lash potion. It has a serum in it which helps your lashes grow. It gives you longest, prettiest lashes, plus the bottle is super pretty. I paid $4.00 at the dollar store. I have repurchased this mascara more then 5 times.
All of these products amazing and don’t break the budget either.
I am working on finding good lighting for my photos , so please bare with me through this transition.
Up next is a chapsticks/ lip salve review
Until next time my loves,
Emma
